TRAINING FAIR OPENED TO GENERAL PUBLIC
Eugene, Ore - The public is invited to the Education, Training and Job Fair at Lane Community College on Thursday, August 14, from 1-6 p.m., in the Center for Meeting and Learning, Building 19, main campus in Eugene, 4000 E. 30th Avenue.
The fair was organized to serve Hynix employees affected by the recent layoff, but interest indicates that other community members also would like to attend, says Patsy Raney, project coordinator of The Workforce Network at Lane.
Information on career-technical degree programs, fast-track training, financial aid, admissions, and the eligibility process for dislocated worker scholarships will be provided. In addition, about 35 local employers will offer information on current employment opportunities. Among them are Valley River Inn, Intel, Pentagon Federal Credit Union, Market of Choice, Micro Systems Engineering, ClearEdge Power, Citigroup, ATI Wah Chang, Sears, Cascade Pacific Pulp, and others.
For more information call 686-7736 or 463-5877.
The Workforce Network office at Lane is open Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Lane Community College is the community's premier provider of workforce training and education, offering degrees and certificates in more than 40 careers, plus short-term training in 20 occupations. See lanecc.edu for more information.
