LCC SETS TRAINING FAIR FOR HYNIX EMPLOYEES AUGUST 14
Eugene, Ore. - An Education and Training Fair for Hynix employees affected by the recent layoff will be held Thursday, August 14, from 1-6 p.m., at the Lane Community College Center for Meeting and Learning, Building 19, main campus in Eugene, 4000 E. 33rd Avenue. College staff, Workforce Network advisors, and a number of local employers will participate.
"Many Hynix employees have expressed a desire for education and retraining," says Patsy Raney, project coordinator of The Workforce Network at Lane. "For employees interested in going to work immediately, there will be information on resume writing, interviewing techniques, and job search strategies. For employees interested in entering training programs, there will be a number of college "fast track" programs and career-technical departments represented. There also will be information on federal financial aid, as well as workshops on the eligibility process for dislocated worker scholarships for education and retraining."
For information about the fair, call 686-7736 or 463-5877. Employees may also visit The Workforce Network office at Lane in Building 19 Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for individualized assistance.
