FIBER ARTIST BRENDA JONES EXHIBITS "CONVERSING IN STITCHES" AT LCC
EUGENE, OR - The Lane Community College Art Gallery is proud to present the works of Kansas fiber artist, Brenda Jones. This exhibition is a unique collection of works entitled "Conversing in Stitches."
Jones states, "I choose imagery and process based on personal experiences, issues that I am going through or can't otherwise seem to resolve. I often choose garments as the base of the work because I want the pieces to be related to histories and stories of women. Mostly, I am interested in the stories that people who see the work are reminded of in their own lives."
The show runs through January 31. A lecture will be held January 24 from 12-1 p.m. immediately followed by a reception from 1-2 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The gallery is located in building 11 on main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue. There is no charge for admission. The Art and Applied Design Department phone number is 463-5409.
