RETAIL MANAGEMENT DEGREE PROGRAM OFFERED
One-year and less-than-one year certificates already available
Eugene, OR – A new two-year associate of applied science degree in Retail Management will be offered at Lane Community College beginning fall 2008. The program will serve new students or workers already employed in the industry who want to advance in store supervision and corporate leadership.
This new course of instruction will help fill more than 500 statewide employment vacancies for retail managers and supervisors, at an average annual wage of $40,000 plus benefits. More than 40 openings a year in Lane County are projected.
Currently, Lane offers a one-year certificate and a less than one-year certificate in retail management.
The new two-year degree is part of a statewide initiative managed by a consortium of Oregon colleges. Lane will partner with Clackamas Community College in Oregon City to offer second-year classes through distance learning.
