LCC NURSING PROGRAM REUNION
––Registration deadline May 11––
EUGENE – The deadline is nearing to register for the first Lane Community College Nursing Alumni Reunion. The event will be held Saturday, May 19, at the Center for Meeting and Learning, Building 19, main campus in Eugene, 4000 E. 30th Avenue. Program graduates from all years are invited. According to nursing program faculty members, the first class of the nursing program started in 1968, and the first class graduated in 1970. Graduates are invited to participate in reunion activities:
* Tours of the nursing program, 10:30-11:30 a.m., Building 4. Alumni can walk through their old nursing lab areas and see the new simulation technology which is being used as a simulated hospital setting with an interactive mannequin.
* Luncheon and program, 12-2 p.m., Building 19. The luncheon program includes comments by Lane President Mary Spilde, nursing program coordinator Julia Munkvold, and current nursing student Bev Einstein. There will also be an open microphone period where students can share their memories of school. The cost is $25 per person and reservations must be received by Friday, May 11. Seating is limited. * Reception, 2-4 p.m., Building 1.
Invitations have been mailed to known alumni. Lane nursing program graduates who did not receive an invitation may contact the Foundation at 463-5768, or register and pay online, follow the links from 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/foundation. Questions may also be directed to 463-5538.
The Nursing Alumni Reunion is sponsored by the Lane Community College Foundation and the Lane nursing program. Event sponsors include SELCO Community Credit Union, Acoustic Sciences Corporation, and an anonymous donor.
Nursing Alumni Reunion Planning Committee members include nursing faculty and alumni and community volunteers including Clarice Bates, Jan Kinman, Mary Lou Lynch, Leslie Noxon, Cindy Weeldreyer, Shelley Williams, and Joyce Young.
