Women in Aviation conference set for April 14
EUGENE - The Aviation Academy at Lane Community College will host the Second Annual Women in Aviation Careers Conference on Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lane’s Flight Technology Center at Eugene Airport, 28715 Airport Road. The event is free and registration is not required.
Co-hosted by Eugene Area Women in Aviation International (WiAI), the event offers an opportunity for women to explore careers in the air transportation industry.
Panelists will include women who have made aviation history such as WASPs, or Women Air Service Pilots; 99s, originally a women’s ferry pilot corps; and Rosie the Riveters, women who built military aircraft.
Also participating will be contemporary women in the aviation industry including a corporate pilot, an aviation maintenance technician, and an air traffic controller.
Guests will have an opportunity for one-on-one discussions with the individual panelists.
The event’s opening forum will look at career paths and trends in aviation and space careers.
