EUGENE - The Lane Community College Foundation is seeking nominees for the 2006-07 Distinguished Alumni Awards.
"At Lane Community College, we are proud of every student. The Distinguished Alumni Awards give us an opportunity to profile students who have gone on to 'do good' in the world, and who have remembered the college along the way," says Foundation Director Janet Anderson.
The Foundation first honored alumni during the college's 25th anniversary and resumed the tradition at its 40th anniversary. The 2006-07 selection of Distinguished Alumni will be presented at the Foundation's President's Circle Donor Reception on May 16, 2007.
The awards will go to alumnus who completed at least 30 credit hours at Lane or earned an associate's degree. Nominees should have demonstrated achievement in their chosen profession, service to the community, or outstanding contribution to the college.
Past honorees include: Jeanne Benson, social service; LuAnne Boettiger nursing; Marciann Gaston, childcare; Pete Gribskov, printing; Kathryn Harrison, tribal leader; John Lively, government; Dan Luoma, scientist, Sue Prichard, real estate; Jerry Smith, law enforcement; David Spriggs, government; Sid and Hank Voorhees, auctions; and Timothy Wahlberg, aviation.
