Two scholarship and financial aid events to be held at LCC on Jan. 20
EUGENE--Students and families seeking help with college scholarships and financial aid will get a two-for-one deal on January 20, when two events coincide at Lane Community College.
The first event is the Eighth Annual College Financial Aid and Scholarship Workshop sponsored by Lane Community College. It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Building 17, Room 308. This event offers effective strategies and resources for scholarship research; tips for completing quality scholarship applications and essays; information about scholarships from the Ford Family Foundation, Lane Community College Foundation, and the Oregon Student Assistance Commission; plus federal financial aid information. To register, call Continuing Education at 463-5252. Students with L numbers may use ExpressLane at 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu and enter CRN # 32923. The second event, College Goal Oregon, is sponsored by the Oregon Student Assistance Commission and will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Building 1 lobby. This event offers assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application form. Participants should bring personal income tax forms, bank statements, and/or pay stubs. Similar workshops are being held at 15 community colleges around Oregon as part of the national College Goal Sunday founded in Indiana in 1989. Both events are on Lane's main campus at 4000 E. 30th Avenue in Eugene. Admission is free and participants should provide their own lunch.
