Miriam Kley to exhibit bas-reliefs at LCC art gallery
EUGENE - The Lane Community College Art Gallery presents a bas-relief exhibit by local artist Miriam Kley, from October 23 to November 9 at the gallery, Building 11, main campus in Eugene, 4000 E. 30th Avenue. An artist's lecture and reception will be held Wednesday, November 1, from 2-5 p.m. in the gallery.
Kley has worked in bas-relief throughout her career and has exhibited locally and nationally. "I work in bas-relief because I am entranced by the interaction of two and three dimensions--the interplay between the illusionistic and the literal, that is between the drawing, or painting, and the sculpture," she says. "A deep feeling about the subject mater motivates my work and my pieces are emotional statements translated into bas-relief."
Lane Community College Art Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays. For more information call (541) 463-5409.
