Fall parking tips for LCC main campus
EUGENE - Parking congestion on Lane Community College main campus is common the first few days of fall term each year as students learn their way around and adjust their schedules. Campus safety officials expect up to 5,000 vehicles to vie for the 3,500 total slots the first few days. Here are some tips to ease the crunch:
- Take the bus. Most main campus credit students and English as a Second Language students at main campus or the LCC Downtown Center qualify for a free LCC Bus Pass. For more information, see 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/instadv/lccbuspassinfo.htm or call 463-5727.
- Carpool. Drivers and riders can sign up for carpooling via the LTD Commuter Solutions website at www.ltd.org or the Rideshare Alliance website at www.rideshare.us (type LCC in the start here box).
- Ride your bike.
- If you drive, arrive a half-hour early to find a parking space.
- Lot N above the baseball field is always the last to fill. See the map at 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/mpr/locations/mc.htm
- Park in a legal, marked space. Parking and traffic regulations are enforced for the safety and convenience of drivers. Violators may be cited or towed if necessary to maintain a safe and orderly campus. View LCC vehicle regulations at 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/cops/mvreg.htm
- Parking is prohibited on the shoulders of Gonyea and Eldon Schafer access roads. These roads are subject to local law enforcement control and ticketing.
- Overflow lots on grassy areas will be designated and staff have been requested to use the overflow lots to increase the number of available parking spaces for students.
- “Lot full" signs will be posted.
