Open house will showcase how center services help fund education at LCC
EUGENE, OR - The Center for Meeting and Learning, a full-service conference facility at Lane Community College, will host an open house from 5:-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 8. The evening features food from the center's new menu, live jazz music, cooking demonstrations by LCC culinary arts students, and prizes from community sponsors.
The evening will showcase the unique space and services offered at the 35,000 sq. ft. center, to raise community awareness of this alternative and education-oriented facility. The center opened in 2003.
"When people bring events to the Center for Meeting and Learning, they are directly supporting education at LCC," says Amanda Poston, coordinator of conference services. "They're not just getting great food and excellent service in a top-notch facility, they are reinvesting their money in the local community." Center events produce revenue for the college and provide "hands-on" learning opportunities for hospitality management and culinary arts students.
The Center for Meeting and Learning has hosted a many successful events including the annual Oregon Bioneers Conference, Centro Latino Americano's Noche Cultural, the Eugene Active 20-30 Club's Oscars Night, the Oregon Mozart Players' Dinner Auction, the Springfield Rotary's fundraising auction, the Churchill prom, Lane ESD Peacemakers Conference and High School Culinary Competitions, and many more.
All local businesses, organizations and individuals in need of conference or event space are invited to attend this special evening.
