Center for Hi-Tech Innovation Announces Official BizCenter Grand Opening
EUGENE, OR - The Lane Community College Business Development Center is pleased to announce the official grand opening of the Center for Hi-Tech Innovation (CHI). The opening will coincide with the BizCenter's annual open house on Thursday, May 18, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
"We're giving a boost to good old American ingenuity," says CHI Director Jon Broome, a veteran of hi-tech product launch who has advised more than 300 innovators since 1991. "Innovators are coming out of the woodwork."
Dozens of innovators have already taken advantage of the BizCenter's one-on-one innovation advising, the twice-monthly Innnovators' Open Forum, and short-term workshops to move their inventions to market, and more short- and long-term workshops and programs are on the horizon at the BizCenter.
Broome notes the explosion of new inventions around the globe, with inventors tapping into increasingly affordable new technologies for design, prototyping, and manufacturing.
"In many cases the cost of product launch has fallen from about the same as a new house to the cost of a good used car," says Broome.
For more information about the Center for Hi-Tech Innovation, the public is invited to attend the BizCenter's open house, which will feature a separate innovators' client fair, at the Business Development Center offices in the Wildish Building at 1445 Willamette St. in Eugene. For general information about the open house or BizCenter services, call (541) 463-5255 or visit www.LaneSBDC.com.
The Center for Hi-Tech Innovation is a public-private partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Lane Community College Business Development Center, and the Friends of Innovation.
