LCC students offer Cajun buffet to benefit peers in hurricane country
EUGENE, OR - Culinary arts and hospitality management students at Lane Community College will hold a Cajun buffet to benefit community college culinary students displaced by the hurricanes in the Gulf coast states, on Friday, October 7, from 5-9 p.m. in the Center for Meeting and Learning, Building 19, main campus.
The "Student-to-Student" buffet will feature gumbo, red beans and rice, hushpuppies, catfish, jambalaya, and other Southern dishes. A jazz combo will play New Orleans music. The cost is $25 per person, $8 for ages 7-12, and free to children under 7. The meal will be first come, first served, with no reservations.
Proceeds will go to the American Culinary Federation which will distribute the monies.
