LCC receives top award for financial reporting

EUGENE, OR ñ Lane Community College has received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of United States and Canada. The award ìis the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management,î wrote GFOA director Stephen J. Gauthier in a notification letter. In addition, an Award of Financial Reporting Achievement was presented to Mary Spilde, president; Stan Barker
, director of college finance and purchasing; and to the staff of the College Finance department; in recognition of their key roles in financial reporting at Lane. Marie Otley, finance director for Benton County and the Oregon representative of GFOA, presented the primary certificate at the September 14 Board of Education meeting. Lane was commended for a ìconstructive spirit of full disclosure to fully communicate its financial story.î
