EUGENE, OR - Internationally acclaimed speaker and writer Dr. Margaret Wheatley will speak at the Center for Meeting and Learning at Lane Community College on Tuesday September 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. Her speech, titled after her most recent book, "Finding Our Way: Leadership for an Uncertain Time," focuses on new practices and ideas for organizing in chaotic times.

"I invite you all to join me in this work of creating more capable, harmonious, creative and generous organizations and communities," says Wheatley. "There is a simpler way, and we each need to play our part in bringing it into robust practice."

Margaret (Meg) Wheatley has been an organizational consultant and researcher since 1973, a professor of management in two graduate programs, and is president emeritus of the Berkana Institute, a global charitable leadership foundation. She received her doctorate from Harvard University and holds an M.A. in systems thinking from New York University. Meg is also the author of three other books: the bestseller, “Leadership and the New Science,” "Turning to One Another: Simple Conversations to Restore Hope to the Future," and "A Simpler Way" (coauthored with Myron Kelner-Rogers). Her work can be accessed at www.margaretwheatley.com.

The presentation is sponsored by the Lane Community College Center for Meeting and Learning and the Kitchen Table Forum.

This event is open to the general public and tickets cost $15 general and $5 student before September 6 and $18 general and $8 student after September 6. Books will be available for purchasing and signing after the event. Call for group rates of 10 or more. Advance registration is recommended.
