Classical cuisine dinner offers European buffet theme
EUGENE, OR - "An Eclectic and Elegant Evening, A Symphony of Flavors, Spring Classical European Buffet," is the theme for this spring's classical cuisine dinner offered by the Lane Community College Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management students on Thursday, May 26. Hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction will commence at 5:30 p.m. followed by the buffet dinner at 6 p.m. The event will be held in the Center for Meeting and Learning, Building 19, on main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue in Eugene.
Among the 18 classical European dishes offered on the buffet are: chicken Breton, a braised dish with mushroom, leek and cream; red snapper ý la niÁoise and spinach and lentil roulade. Other highlights include Gruyere potatoes ý la gratin, asparagus with gremoulade sauce, pear and endive salad with Gorgonzola cream, charcouterie platters, and vegetable and ice sculptures. Dessert will feature dobos torte, crÙquembÙuche, crËpes a l'orange, flambÈed pears and chocolate and fruit mousse.
There will be a no-host bar and entertainment will be provided. Student dining room manager, Harry Holstein and student executive chef, Nina Comiskey are pleased to invite the community to an evening of fine dining.
Tickets are $35 per person and should be purchased by May 20. Make checks payable to LCC Classical Cuisine and mail or deliver to LCC Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Program, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Building 19, Room 204, Eugene, OR 97405.
