Holman appointed to LCC Board
EUGENE - Paul R. Holman of Florence was appointed to the Zone 1 seat on the Lane Community College Board of Education by 6-0 vote at the board's December 3 meeting. Zone 1 covers the western part of the college district.
Holman will take the oath of office on December 11 and will serve through June 30, 2003. The position will be up for election in May 2003 for term of service from July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2005, to complete the unexpired term of Lucille Salmony who resigned October 15 for personal reasons.
Board members
cited the value of Holman's ability to represent the Florence community;
his familiarity with the college through his service on the LCC at Florence
Advisory Committee; and his broad civic and business experience.
Holman published the Siuslaw News from 1975-2000. He currently is a real
estate associate broker and completed real estate classes at Lane. He
has a bachelor's in business administration from the University of Portland
and is a graduate of Siuslaw High School. He served in the United States
Air Force from 1967-1975, including a 15-month tour of duty as a pilot
in Vietnam. He has served on a number of civic and community organizations.
