LCC Board seeks applicants for appointment to its Zone 1 position
EUGENE — The Lane Community College Board of Education is seeking applications for appointment to the Zone 1 position on the board.
To be eligible to apply, applicants must be at least 18 years of age, registered to vote at least 20 days prior to application, and be a resident of Zone 1 for at least six months.
Zone 1 covers the western part of the college district including the Bethel area of Eugene, Veneta, Dunes City, Florence, and Monroe. Addresses may be confirmed as within Zone 1 by calling the LCC President's Office at 463-5200.
The deadline to apply is Friday, November 8.
Eligible applicants will be sent a list of interview questions in advance of interviews to be held in public session on Tuesday, December 3, beginning at 4 p.m. in the Boardroom, Building 3, LCC main campus in Eugene.
The appointee will serve through June 30, 2003. The position will be up for election in May 2003 for term of service from July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2005, to complete the unexpired term of Lucille Salmony who resigned the position effective October 15 for personal reasons.
The appointee will need to attend regular monthly meetings currently held second Wednesdays beginning at 5:30 p.m. The board is discussing changing to an earlier start time. In addition, the board meets for work sessions, executive sessions and special meetings as needed.
