League Student Literary Competition

A literary competition for students is held among League schools. Lane’s competition was initially coordinated by English faculty Kathleen Schul and Sharon Thomas. For the last nine years the student literary competition has been ably facilitated by Administrative Support Specialist Sharon Hainley. Currently the competition is coordinated by Susan Brous, Cooperative Education Coordinator for the Language, Literature and Communications Division.

Literary Competition Process: Student work may be submitted in four categories, poetry, one-act play, personal essay, and short story. Each of the League Board colleges holds a local competition and the first place winners of each local competition are automatically entered into the national competition. Winners of the national competition have their work compiled into an anthology and receive cash prizes.

Student Literary Award Winners can be found at the League for Innovation Student Literary Competition web site.
