Scholarships keep education accessible. Every day, hard-working and deserving students enroll at Lane to better their life. Many could not pursue their dreams without scholarship support. Their success depends on you, our donors.
Shining Star Scholarship Fund - This unrestricted annual scholarship benefits students in all areas of study from performing arts and athletics to pre-engineering, nursing or diesel technology. Each department has its own Shining Star scholarship to award.
Annual Named Scholarship - Annual named scholarships are established on a yearly basis and can be renewed. The minimum gift is $1,000. This minimum dollar amount represents one-third the current cost of one year’s tuition at Lane. These scholarships are awarded each year the donor renews the gift. They may be restricted for a specific degree program or major. The fund is not permanent nor does it participate in the foundation’s investment program.
Endowed Scholarships - A scholarship endowment is similar to a savings account or an investment account. The earnings from the fund are used to support a scholarship, but the principal of the fund remains untouched. The endowment fund thus provides scholarship support for students in perpetuity. Endowments can be created with either a gift or pledge of $25,000 or more. Pledges can be paid over five years.

Help the Lane Community College Foundation make the dream of a college education a reality for hundreds of additional students by donating to scholarships by March 31, 2011.
The Challenge - The James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation will donate $1.5 million to scholarships to the 17 community colleges in Oregon. As the second largest post-secondary educational institution in Oregon, Lane’s share of that amount is $150,000.
How it Works - The Miller Foundation will match up to $150,000 in “new” or “increased” scholarship donations to Lane’s Foundation.
Our Goal - Last year donors contributed $643,399 for scholarships. Our goal is to raise $793,399 for scholarships by March 31, 2011.

Impact - The Foundation received over 2,500 scholarship applications and had funds for only 482 requests during the 2010-11 school year. You can help us meet the Miller Foundation challenge and create hundreds of additional scholarships. Imagine being able to help every deserving student who requires financial assistance.
