Planned Course of Study

When you complete the online admissions form, you'll be asked to indicate your intended area of study. You will be choosing one degree and one major area of study that fits your initial plans. You can change your degree and major goals at any time in myLane , under the "myEnrollment" tab.

When applying on-line the list defaults to "No Major Declared; No Degree Sought". If you are going to pursue a degree or certificate at this time and/or wish to be considered for financial aid when you begin studies at Lane, you should choose an eligible program of study.

Career and Technical Programs: Career and Technical programs lead to one-year and two-year certificates and two-year Associate of Applied Science degrees. All of Lane's professional technical majors are listed, along with the degree or certificate that is earned when you complete the program.

College Transfer Programs: If you are planning to transfer to a 4-year college or university, choose one of the five College Transfer Degrees listed. Then choose one of the College Transfer Majors listed.

Personal Enrichment: If you are enrolling in classes for personal enrichment, and are not seeking any degree or certificate, then select "No Major declared; No degree sought" on the online Admissions Form.
