Meeting Minutes
2002.10.10

Attendees:  Joe Russin, Stephen Pruch, Cindy Dietz, Kaarin O'Rourke, Bob Vogel, Linda DeWitt
Absent:  Linda Loft
Recorder:  Linda DeWitt

Minutes from the September 27 meeting were approved.

Stephen reported that he did submit the membership web page changes to Lori Brenden, but that they were not available in time for this round of nominations.

MEMBERSHIP:

TACT members in attendance all confirmed willingness to serve for another year on TACT.  Joe Escobar's nomination was approved, and Stephen will notify him.  TACT discussed the possibility of doing a limited amount of recruitment for additional members with a goal of increasing diversity in the group to include more non-instructional members.  Three names were mentioned, and these people will be contacted by TACT members.

Linda Grenz              Stephen will contact
Vicki Doughty           Linda D will contact
Barbara McIntire       Bob (?) will contact

We will encourage these folks to submit an application and will hold the process open until the first meeting in November (Nov 14).

TECHNOLOGY FEE:
So far, according to Banner, the college has collected $366,221.02 (not including a bad debt assessment) in technology fees from students.  This is in line with the estimates upon which the budget is based.  Bob's information indicates that something around $460,000 has been collected.  Bob and Stephen will work to resolve the discrepancy.

Casey Adams has all the accounting in place to do the budget transfers for money allocated in August and has contacted all affected managers.  She is waiting for the budget office to notify her that it is time to do these transfers.  If that is not known within a week or so, managers will be instructed to go ahead and spend the funds they have been allocated, regardless of budget.

The deadline for the next application cycle for technology fee revenue is October 31.  Stephen has two requests and will submit additional ones related to Norton anti-virus software and part of the college's Internet access costs. TACT should plan on making decisions on these applications at the first November meeting (Nov 14) since the second meeting would fall on Thanksgiving.

Next Meeting:  TACT members should review and be ready to discuss the Technology Vision and Guiding Principles at the next meeting.

Bob will forward the strategic plan feedback document to TACT.
