About TACT 10/08/03 PRESENT: Cindy Dietz, Linda Grenz, Linda DeWitt, Linda Loft, Stephen Pruch, Karen O’Rourke, Joe Russin FACILITATOR: Stephen Pruch RECORDER: Linda Loft 1. The minutes were approved as written. 2. Our next meeting – Oct. 23rd, will be in Sci211. Steve will not be in attendance. 3. Steve gave a brief overview of the new Unit Planning. It will become the basis for all department/unit level requests for Technology Funds. Linda DeWitt expressed an issue with having all requests come from units, with little regard for college-wide technology issues. Several members concurred. The full discussion with Sonya Christian regarding her view of the Unit plan was postponed. 4. Steve reported on the following recent TACT issues.
6. Accreditation. Steve has been asked to complete an I.T. self-study as part of the accreditation process. Although not part of the NWASC accreditation standards, Steve has taken standard 5 and revised it for IT, – replacing IT for Library. The Self-Study steering committee wants a compliance audit completed. Steve will email his revised Standard 5 to TACT members. Steve requested that we update the evidence and conclusion (strengths, challenges, & recommendations) sections and emailed it back to him. The I.T. revised Standard 5 was put on the Nov 13th meeting agenda for a comprehensive discussion. 7. Calendar Review. Joe Russin asked when new TACT members will start attending meetings. Steve said new members must be approved by ET first. Linda Loft suggested that they be invited to observe until final ET approval. It was agreed that the Microsoft Agreement discussion be put on the Dec. 11th meeting schedule, with Tech Plans and Tech Fund discussions during the January meetings. Steve would like the ’05 Tech Plan viewed as a goal sheet for the year with between 5 and 10 goals on it. This should be completed before the end of January. Karen reminded TACT of the technology fund issues to be resolved before allocating next year’s funds. To Do:
