1.   TACT meetings will be held in ADM 206 except October 23 and January 22.  On these dates meetings will be held in SCI 211..

2.   Linda DeWitt announced that once she begins working part-time she will not have the time to serve on TACT.

3.   Call for 2003 TACT Nominations

  • An announcement will run in The Daily September 29, October 1 & 2 (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
  • Due date for nominations is October 17
  • Members will be chosen at the October 23 meeting
  • TACT will consider choosing 2-5 new members.  Our goal is to create a balanced representation in these five areas: services to students, curriculum development, professional development, information systems, and facilities planning.
4.   TACT web documents were reviewed and edited
  • Joe Escobar will create an online nomination form for the web
5.   Sonya Christian has been invited to speak to TACT about unit planning, and how unit planning will affect technology fee requests and awards.

6.   Information technology is not presently an accreditation standard.  TACT will discuss a campus information technology standard.

7.   Topics for 2003/2004 were discussed.  Members attempted to prioritize the list of topics on the agenda, and added the following items:

  • How is technology currently being used on campus
  • Desktop replacement
  • Technology center
  • Banner implementation
  • Computers for student use
Since time is limited, it was suggested that work teams gather information on selected topics and report findings to TACT.

8.   2003/2004 calendar was reviewed

  • October 9 - revise charter (Stephen will email suggested changes to members)
  • October 23 – select new members
  • Once unit planning is discussed (meeting with Sonya), TACT may have a better sense of priorities, and continue to schedule calendar for the year.
Recorder rotation:  Loft, DeWitt, Russin, Escobar, Dietz, O’Rourke
