The Successful Aging Institute offers professional Personal Care Aide training

Calling those with a caring heart and a dedication to helping others. In response to requests from area employers, the Successful Aging Institute at Lane now offers 40-hour comprehensive training to prepare you for an entry-level position as a professional Personal Care Aide (PCA) in residential community and in-home care settings.

The PCA skills-based training touches on many areas including compassionate communication, proper body mechanics, assistance with acts of daily living, fire safety, hospice, and self-care for the caregiver. Hands-on practice in Lane's Certified Nursing Assistant lab augments lecture, small group discussion, class textbook, and videos. Upon successful completion, students will receive an Award of Completion and a list of local employers who may offer special consideration.

Contact Tina at SAI, (541) 463-4634 or dressert@lanecc.edu, for registration and other information.
