Math Computer Lab - Building 16, Room 222

  • The Math Computer Lab is a designated “Math and Engineering Use Only” computer lab. 
  • The lab hours are 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. except when in use by an Instructor as a class room.  Times will vary each term. 
  • The room is kept locked during all unattended hours but is still available for use. 
  • To use the lab, locate Robin Geyer, Lab Coordinator, (541) 463-3174, Building 16, Room 223, or the Math Office, Building 16, Room 166.
  • The lab consists of 37 PC’s all using Windows XP operating system. 
-Logging into the lab computers:

Log ON Screen “Novel Client for Windows”

  • UserName: L#
  • Password: Enter the password/pin you use when loggin into ExpressLane.  If your password is longer than 6 characters use only the first 6 characters.

-Assign/Drop on PC's in Lab:

Finding Assignments in Assign/Drop
  • On the left side of the desktop you will find a folder titled Asg-Drop
  • Double Click on Asg-Drop
  • Double Click on Assign
  • Find the folder labeled Math (the folders are in alphabetical order)
  • Double click on Math
  • Select your instructor’s folder and double click

Dropping Assignments in Assign/Drop

  • On the left side of the desktop you will find a folder titled Asg-Drop
  • Double Click on Asg-Drop
  • Double Click on Drop
  • Find the folder labeled Math (the folders are in alphabetical order)
  • Double click on Math
  • Select your instructor’s folder and double click
  • Drag and drop your assignment here.

Note: You will not be able to see the your file once it is copied to the drop folder. You can verify it is there by trying to drop it again, the computer will ask if you want to replace the existing one but it won’t let you unless you rename it. 

You can access the Asg-Drop folder from home by going to http://vo.lanecc.edu

You can only Save to Drop and Read and Copy in Assign.

-As a student you have access to Network Storage Space each term. See instructions below:

How to Save In the Student NetStorage Space

  • Go to File
  • Go to Save As
  • Select your L# Double Click
  • Name your file and click save
How to find your Lane file from home
  • From your internet browser go to http://2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/icl/netstorage.htm
  • Print the NetStorage Instructions before going on.
  • Click on “log into NetStorage” located at the top of the page in red font.
  • Your L# is your username and your password is your Expresslane password.
  • Follow your printed Instructions.

NetStorage Space is TEMPORARY Storage Space.

  • The storage space for students is deleted at the end of every term.  For documents you want to keep indefinitely, be sure to save them elsewhere.
