Campus Resources/Student Life

As you begin enrolling in classes you’ll need to determine whether you will be a full-time or part-time student. Full-time status is considered being enrolled in 12 credits or more per term. This would also include summer terms.

While examining your various life roles, keep in mind that being successful in academics requires that you dedicate time to study. Most educational experts believe that being enrolled in 12 credits is comparable to a full-time job. Ask any college graduate and they will likely tell you so.

Determining full-time or part-time enrollment is a personal choice. Many Lane students work while attending college, have children, or other responsibilities to focus on.  Spend some time considering how you will meet all of your obligations, and keep in mind, you are adding another commitment to your already busy life.

Student Success Tip:
Completing all of your attempted credits should be your goal. It's better to take fewer classes and successfully complete them, than to enroll in too many classes and receive low grades. Making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) should be the goal.
