Award Letter information/Summer term additions

Award Letter

Grants are automatically set up and there are no steps for you to complete.
Keep in mind that grant amounts go up or down depending on enrollments levels.

Accepting Loans

  • Accept in myLane
  • Complete Online Entrance Counseling
  • Complete Online Master Promissory Note

NOTE: Completing the Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note requirements once will satisfy the requirements for either or both loans. If you were paid a loan from LCC in any year since the 2003-2004 academic year, disregard steps 2 and 3 listed above.

Keep in mind that you must have at least 6 credits to qualify for a loan and the amount does not go up or down with enrollment levels.

First time borrowers have a 30 day delay on their loans. See Award Brochures for dates.

One term loans must be paid in two disbursements. See Award Brochures for dates.

********IMPORTANT********

READ THE AWARD BROCHURES THAT COME WITH AWARD LETTERS. The brochures provide valuable information and financial aid disbursement schedule.

AWARD LETTER SUMMER TERM ADDITIONS

  • If you are attending summer term and have completed the advance registration process, you should receive an award letter that includes an offer for summer term. (Lane's academic year begins with summer term.)
  • If you did not complete the advance registration process and you plan to enroll or have enrolled summer, you will receive a revised award letter with a summer term offer approximately two weeks after you have enrolled.
  • Adding summer term awards may adjust your funding since it is spread over four terms instead of the standard three terms of fall, winter, and spring. This adjustment may substantially decrease the amount of aid received in spring term (especially Pell Grant recipients). Be sure to plan ahead for any shortfalls in funding for spring.

Full award letter information is available on the Financial Aid website.
