October 16, 2000 Update
WORKFORCE TRAINING CENTER SITE OKAY AS IS.
After further consultations with Eugene Sand & Gravel and the architects, it has been determined that gravel will not need to be applied to the base of the Conference Center site. When construction of the Center was pushed back until the beginning of the year, it was thought that gravel would need to be applied at the site, thereby promoting drainage when winter rains arrived. However, inspection of the site after the rains last week indicated that the earth seems to be handling the water well and not deteriorating as was initially predicted. Construction continues to be tentatively scheduled to begin in January 2001.
