WORKFORCE TRAINING
July 24, 2000 Update
BIDS FOR SITE PREPARATION OF WORKFORCE TRAINING CENTER WILL OPEN AUGUST 4th.
In the near future, work on the area directly west of the Apprenticeship building will undergo site preparation for the Conference Center portion of the Workforce Training Center. The staging area for the site preparation will be Lot E, better known to most college employees as the lot adjacent (south) of the Apprenticeship building. During all phases of construction on the Workforce Training Center, ADA parking spaces currently located in Lot E will be temporarily relocated directly west, toward the Childcare facilities, and across Gonyea Road to Lot D. The first eight slots on the south side of the Lot D will be designated ADA spaces for the duration of the Workforce Training project. Due to upcoming Workforce Training construction, bids have recently gone out for development of a temporary sidewalk on the south side of Lot E. The sidewalk will provide a route from the west parking lots to the central campus area. From Gonyea Road, the sidewalk will run parallel to Lot E, past the Workforce Training Center staging area, and join the existing path that runs down from the south parking lot past the Forum building. Upon completion of the Workforce Training Center project, Lot E will reopen with ADA slots reestablished.
