WOULD YOU BELIEVE 48,000 POUNDS?
Building 1(Student Services) has some spacious areas within those brick walls, and that's a good thing, because Monday, twenty-four tons of Steelcase was delivered to the building. The 968 pieces that will arrive on site will compliment two other previous smaller shipments of Steelcase in order that sixty-seven workstations can be established in the facility. Of the total amount of Steelcase in the facility, fifty stations will be located on the first floor, with the remaining seventeen on the upper level. In its entirety, Steelcase for Building 1 carried a list price of $400,000; however, the cost was reduced to $128,000 by using a governmental/educational purchasing contract. The Bond Project Management Team would like to recognize Bee McRae, Coordinator of Students First!, and Jennifer Hayward of Facilities Planning Office, who, over the course of the project, collaborated to develop Steelcase designs that will meet workstation needs throughout Building 1.
