LCC Student Veteran Courses (see the online class schedule for full course descriptions and availability) CG 151: Student Veterans: Understanding Military to College Systems This course explores the knowledge, skills, and abilities that each person learns and develops during their military service. Students will learn how prior military experience can be used to achieve a more successful and enriching college experience. Student veterans who complete the course will also have the tools needed to manage their time; analyze, think, and write critically; maximize learning success, and communicate clearly. CG 152: Student Veterans: Navigating Life Transitions This course explores the complex nature of transitions from civilian life-to military service-and back to civilian life as a veteran. Everyone faces transitions over a lifetime (marriage, divorce, childbirth, addiction recovery, beginning and ending careers, a loss of health, the death of a loved one). This course will encourage students to develop an understanding of the differences and commonalities among life’s transitions. CG 153: Student Veterans: College and Veteran Resources In addition to the intellectual demands placed on students, developing a clear understanding of available resources within a college environment can be difficult and stressful. Individuals with prior military service are further challenged to grasp and utilize the larger number of community and government resources intended for veterans and their families. This course will equip student veterans to navigate the resources and services available to them on and off campus.
