Timely Tips: Settling In (weeks 2-3) - return to Timely Tips index

• In Week Two, get your bus sticker for the term at the bookstore. You must print out a copy of your term schedule the day you get your sticker.
• Although it may still seem like you’ve barely started, the term passes very quickly. Be sure to read your texts, take notes, prepare assignments, and start your writing assignments and projects early.
• Staying organized? If not, re-organize!
• Attend class always!
• So sick you can’t attend class? Notify your instructor before class. Ensure you get things in that are due.
• Check to see if you are released for Advance Registration on myEnrollment for the next term.
• If not, meet with your assigned Academic Advisor or Counselor for Advance Registration and to develop a term-by-term plan for the upcoming terms.
• Meet more people in your classes. See if anyone wants to get together to study.
• Have you visited the Tutoring Centers? Get a good habit started now.
• If you are feeling confused or unsure about things, visit your instructors during their office hours or see your Counselor or Advisor.
• Do you know when Advance Registration begins? Register as early as possible in order to get the classes and schedule you want.
• Mid-terms are right around the corner…prepare now.
