Enrollment closed What is Students in Service (SIS)?The Students in Service program is a part-time Campus Compact AmeriCorps program that encourages and supports college and university students to enroll as part-time AmeriCorps members who provide valuable service in their communities. Student members serve in partnership with schools and community-based organizations in the areas of education, environment, human needs, public safety, and community development. SIS members make a difference in their communities, gain valuable civic and workforce skills. Students have a calendar year from date of enrollment to complete the 300 hours and receive their $1,132 Education Award (scholarship) which can be applied towards outstanding federal student loans or the cost of attendance at a college or university.
