Scholarship
Lane students are eligible to apply for many different scholarships.
Most scholarships have limits on the number of students that may be nominated. Each year
a committee reviews all applications received by the internal deadline and chooses which
candidates will be nominated.
Some scholarships related to Phi Theta Kappa are:

|
- Have at least 67.5 quarter, college-level credit hours by December 31, 2007 AND
intend to have at least 79.5 quarter, college-level credit hours at community college
by August 31, 2008
- Be on track to obtain an associate or bachelor degree

Guistwhite Scholar
|
- Be enrolled at a community college through December 2006
- Be an active member of Phi Theta Kappa
- Be on track to earn an associate degree with a minimum of 67.5 quarter credits
by December 31, 2006 and 79.5 quarter credits by August 31, 2007
- Have completed a minimum of 45 quarter credits in the last 5 years
- Hold a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA in all college-level coursework completed in the last five years
- Expect to transfer to a four-year insitution in 2007 with a junior status
- Have a clean records and have full rights of citizenship

Nota Bene

- Only currently enrolled Phi Theta Kappa members may submit entries
- Any qualitative and quantitative research papers, poetry, short stories, essays and dramas are accepted for consideration
- Entries cannot be returned nor are members notified when entries arrive
- No entry may exceed 2,500 words
- Members may enter as many times as desired

- Be a full-time matriculated sophomore during the 2006-07 academic year
- Have a minimum "B" GPA
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Be nominated by your institution

|
- Have sophomore status by December 31, 2006 (or a recent graduate since May 2002) at an accredited U.S. community college
- Plan to enroll full time in a baccalaureate program in fall 2007
- Have a 3.50 cumulative undergraduate GPA
- Be nominated by your institution
- Not have been previously nominated

Hispanic Scholarship Fund

- Be of Hispanic heritage
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the U.S. with a valid Social Security number
- Be enrolled at a community college
- Plan to transfer and enroll full time in a degree-seeking program at an accredited U.S. college
- Have a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA
- Apply for federal financial aid

|
- Be a woman, age 35 or older
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be enrolled in, or accepted to, an accredited school
- Be pursuing a technical or vocational education, an associate's degree, or a first bachelor's degree
- Have low-income according to the U.S. Department of Labor's Lower Living Standard

- Be enrolled for a minimum of six credit hours for fall 2006
- Have a clean record

Coca-Cola Two-Year College Scholarship
|
- Be one of two students nominated by a college campus
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Demonstrated academic success with a minimum 2.5 GPA
- Engaged in a community service within the previous 12 months
- Planning to enroll in at last two courses during the upcoming fall term at a two-year college (not transferring to a four-year college)
- May not be the child or grandchild of a Coca-Cola employee
