The 91st International Convention

Three members from our chapter and one alumni attended the International Convention in Grapevine, Texas from April 15-18, 2009. It was extremely educational--Robert Kennedy, Jr. and Fareed Zakaria were guest speakers, and we had a lot of fun. Our chapter brought home four awards:

• Sigma Zeta is one of the Top 25 Chapters for 2008 and brought home the distinguished chapter award. (This is the second year in a row. There are currently about 1250 chapters internationally.)
• Sigma Zeta received the Scholarship Hallmark award. (The second year in a row our chapter has received this award.)
• Jeff Phillips, Former Chapter President, received the Distinguished Chapter President Award.
• Velda Arnaud, Chapter Advisor, received the Paragon Award for New Advisors serving less than five years. This is her fourth year as advisor, and this is her fourth paragon award.

In addition, our chapter presented two educational forums at the convention. Our topics were Viral Marketing and Emotional Intelligence. Both sessions were very well attended.
