Lane Community College Board Zones
General Description
On July 17, 2002 the Lane Community College Board of Education approved new district boundaries for the 5 board zones.
Zone 1 is primarily western Lane County. Starting at the northwestern portion of the zone at the Pacific Ocean and the northeastern boundary of the Lane Community College (LCC) District, the boundary moves east along the northern LCC District boundary which is also the northern boundary of the Siuslaw, Mapleton, Blachly and Junction City School Districts and the Monroe Elementary School Attendance Area until it reaches Linn County where it moves south along the Willamette River to Highway 99 East where the boundary moves west to Lingo Lane. At Lingo Lane the boundary moves west to Highway 99 West where it goes south to Oaklea Drive and then continues south to Cox Butte Road where it moves west to Flat Creek. At Flat Creek the boundary goes south to the Junction City Urban Growth Boundary as of October, 2000 and then continues south to High Pass Road where it moves west to Dorsey Lane. At Dorsey Lane it moves south to Alvadore Road and continues south to Amazon Creek. At Amazon Creek it continues south to Meadowview Road where it moves east to Highway 99 North and then continues south to the northern boundary of the Bethel School District at which point it follows the school district boundary east, south and then west until it reaches Bailey Hill Road where it continues west along West 11th Avenue. It continues west on West 11th Avenue until it reaches Crow Road and then goes west until Greenhill Road where it moves north to Highway 126 at which point it moves west. The boundary continues west on Highway 126 until Coyote Creek and the western boundary of Fern Ridge School District where it moves south along the western Fern Ridge School District boundary to the Crow-Applegate-Lorane School District boundary. It continues generally south along the Crow -Applegate-Lorane School District boundary until it reaches BLM Road 19-4-21 where it continues south to a tributary of Hawley Creek where it moves east to a logging road. It then moves south down the logging road to North Hill Road and continues south to Cottage Grove-Lorane Road where it moves southeast to BLM Road 20-4-9. It continues south on BLM Road 20-4-9 to the Crow-Applegate-Lorane School District boundary where it again follows the school district boundary south to the Lane County line. At the Lane County line it moves west following the southern LCC District boundary which is also the southern boundary of Crow-Applegate-Lorane, Fern Ridge, Mapleton and Siuslaw School Districts until it reaches the Pacific Ocean where it goes north along the western portion of the LCC District to northeastern boundary of the LCC District.
Zone 2 generally consists of the area from North Eugene to Harrisburg including the cities of Coburg, Junction City and Harrisburg. Starting at the northwestern portion of the zone at the Willamette River and the northwestern boundary of Harrisburg Union High School attendance area close to Nixon Drive, the boundary moves east along the northern LCC District boundary which is also the northern boundary of Harrisburg Union High School. The boundary continues around the Harrisburg Union High School attendance area moving south to the Lane County line where it continues south and then west to Interstate 5. At Interstate 5, the boundary moves south to Interstate 105 where it moves west to Delta Highway. At Delta Highway, the boundary moves west to the Willamette River which it follows east to the Greenway foot bridge where it moves south to approximately Briarcliff. At the east end of Briarcliff, the boundary moves south to the east end of Thomason Lane and then follows the Eugene City limits as of October, 2000 north back up to Briarcliff where it moves west to the Northwest Expressway. It continues north up the Northwest Expressway to the Bethel School District boundary where it continues north and then west along the Bethel School District boundary until it reaches Highway 99 North at which point it moves north to Meadowview Road where it moves west to Amazon Creek. At Amazon Creek, it moves north to Alvadore Road and then up to Dorsey Lane until it reaches High Pass Road at which point it moves east to the Junction City Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) as of October, 2000. The boundary follows the UGB north to Flat Creek and then up Flat Creek to Cox Butte Road where it continues east to Oaklea Drive. At Oaklea Drive the boundary moves north to Highway 99 West and continues north to Lingo Lane and then east on Lingo Lane to Highway 99 East. The boundary follows Highway 99 East to the Willamette River and then north up the Willamette River to the northwest boundary of Harrisburg Union High School attendance area.
Zone 3 consists primarily of the Springfield and Marcola area. Starting at the northwestern portion of the zone at Interstate 5 and the northern Lane County line, the boundary moves east along the Lane County line to the northeastern boundary of the Marcola School District. The boundary follows the Marcola School District south and west to the ridge crest between Camp Creek and the main stem of the McKenzie River where it continues south to the Walterville Canal. The boundary moves west along the canal to the first diversion into the McKenzie River and then crosses the McKenzie River to a private road which it follows south to Thurston Road. At Thurston Road, the boundary moves east and south to the McKenzie Highway where it moves west to the Springfield Urban Growth Boundary as of October, 2000. It continues around the southeastern Springfield UGB until it reaches the Springfield School District boundary where it moves south and then west to the Middle Fork of the Willamette River. It continues west along the Middle Fork of the Willamette River to the Willamette River where it moves northwest to Interstate 5. At Interstate 5, the boundary moves north to the Lane County line.
Zone 4 is primarily eastern Lane County. Starting at the northern portion of the zone at the northern Lane County line and the northeastern point of the McKenzie School District, the boundary moves east along the McKenzie School District boundary which is also the Lane County line and the LCC District boundary. The boundary continues east, south and then west around the LCC District boundary which is also the boundary for the Oakridge School District and the South Lane School District until it reaches BLM Road 20-4-9 where it continues north to Cottage Grove-Lorane Road where it moves northwest to North Hill Road. At North Hill Road, the boundary continues north to a logging road where it moves generally north to a tributary of Hawley Creek at which point it moves northwest to BLM Road 19-4-21 until it reaches the western Creswell School District boundary. It continues north along the Creswell School District boundary until it reaches the Eugene School District boundary where it continues northwesterly until it reaches Highway 126 West. At Highway 126 West the boundary moves east to Greenhill Road and then goes south to Crow Road where it follows Crow Road east to 11th Avenue. The boundary moves east on 11th Avenue to Bailey Hill Road where it moves south to 18th Avenue. It follows 18th Avenue east to Todd Street then south to Ellen Street and east to Broadview. At Broadview, the boundary moves south to Hawkins Lane and then northeast to Trillium and then to 21st Avenue where it continues east until it reaches City View. At City View, the boundary moves south to 22nd Avenue and then east down 22nd to Cleveland Street. The boundary then continues south down Cleveland Street to 25th Avenue and then goes east to Chambers Street. At Chambers Street, the boundary moves south to the Eugene City limits as of October, 2000. The boundary follows the city limits around South Eugene until it reaches Floral Hill Drive at which point it moves north to Sylvan Street. The boundary continues north to Franklin Blvd and then east to Interstate 5. At Interstate 5 it moves north to the Willamette River where it follows the river east and south to the Middle Fork of the Willamette River at which point it continues east to the northern portion of the Pleasant Hill School District. The boundary moves around the Pleasant Hill School District northeast to the Springfield Urban Growth Boundary as of October, 2000 where it continues northeast to the McKenzie Highway. At the McKenzie Highway, the boundary moves east to Thurston Road where it continues northwest to a private road. The boundary follows the private road to the McKenzie River which it cross to the first diversion from the Walterville Canal. It continues east up the canal to the ridge crest between Camp Creek and the main stem of the McKenzie River. The boundary follows the ridge crest northeast to the Springfield School District Boundary where it moves north to the McKenzie School District boundary. It continues north along the McKenzie School District boundary to the northern Lane County line.
Zone 5 is primarily downtown and south Eugene. Starting at the north portion of the zone at the Willamette River and Delta Highway, the boundary moves east along Interstate 105 to Interstate 5 where it goes south to Franklin Blvd and then moves west to Sylvan Street and continues south down Sylvan Street and Floral Hill Drive. Then the boundary generally follows the Eugene City limits as of October, 2000 around South Eugene until it reaches Chamber Street where it moves north to 25th Avenue. At 25th Avenue, it moves west to Cleveland Street then north to 22nd Avenue. At 22nd Avenue, the boundary moves west to City View and then north to 21st Avenue. At 21st Avenue, it proceeds west to Trillium then north to Hawkins Lane and then southwest to Broadview. At Broadview the boundary moves north to Ellen and then to Todd where it moves north to 18th Avenue. On 18th Avenue, it heads west to Bailey Hill Road and then north on Bailey Hill to West 11th Avenue where it moves east back to City View. At City View, the boundary moves north to 5th Avenue and then east to Chambers and generally follows Chamber Street to the Northwest Expressway. From Northwest Expressway the boundary goes northwest to Briarcliff . It moves west on Briarcliff across River Road to the Eugene City limits as of October, 2000 where it follows the city limits south to Thomason Lane. The boundary moves east to the end of Thomason Lane at which point it moves north back up to the end of Briarcliff. At the end of Briarcliff, the boundary moves north across the park to the Willamette River at the Greenway foot bridge. The boundary follows the Willamette River to Delta Highway.
