Sample Civility Statement

My virtual classroom is a hate-free zone. To this end, racist, sexist, homophobic or other discriminatory language is inapropriate and will not be tolerated.

I encourage and embrace diversity of viewpoint, but not at the expense of other people’s souls.

Please respect e-mail privacy. Of necessity, we have access to each other’s e-mail addresses. These are for your classroom use only. No flaming, insulting or disrespectful language, please. Use your best manners.

That said, this site is also a free speech zone for the lively exchange of ideas between reasonable people. In a safe environment, our minds and hearts may learn and thrive.
