WHAT IS EXPANDED OPTIONS?

The Expanded Options Program (EOP) provides an opportunity for qualifying students to take courses at LCC or online to complete their high school diploma.

NOTE: Not all high schools/districts participate in the expanded options program. See your high school guidance counselor for more complete information.


WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Classes are open only to eligible juniors and seniors who are:

  • 16 years or older and have not received a high school diploma.
  • High School students approved and referred by their high school
  • Identified as at-risk students or who have dropped out of high school.
  • Identified during the spring prior to the year in which they are to enroll at Lane

COSTS?

  • Some high schools have funding for these courses while others do not
  • All high schools can assist students in identifying courses and helping students receive both high school and college credits

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY HIGH SCHOOL WILL REFER ME AND/OR PAY THE FEES?

Check with your home high school counseling office for specific school participation in the Expanded Options Program.


WHAT COURSES CAN I TAKE?

Under the EOP eligible courses include courses that:

  • Do not duplicate existing high school classes as determined by the high school.
  • Are held on the Lane Community College campus or online.

HOW DO I APPLY?

EO studentSee your high school guidance counselor for a referral to take a course.

Have your counselor complete HS Partnership Referral Form *(.pdf)
Fax a copy of the forms to High School Connections office Fax#: (541) 463-4734 and send original to SD office for approval. School District will set up Sponsored Account for student.

Apply for admission and choose the “College Credit Application” type

Take the LCC placement test (given at some high schools and on the LCC campus) Reading and Writing test required, Math test required if taking a Math course.
