  • American Association of People with Disabilities
    Works in coalition with other disability organizations for the full implementation and enforcement of disability nondiscrimination laws, particularly the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Includes employment opportunities, scholarship, news, resources, and calendars. The Justice For All E-mail Network (JFA) exists to defend and advance disability rights.
  • Association on Higher Education And Disability
    Professional association committed to full participation of persons with disabilities in postsecondary education. Includes listings of trainings, employment, resource, conferences, and special section for students.
  • Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund (DREDF)
    Law and policy center dedicated to protecting and advancing the civil rights of people with disabilities through legislation, litigation, advocacy, technical assistance, and education and training of attorneys, advocates, persons with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities. Includes voting info, advocacy, legal issues, family issues, news, newsletters, extensive links.
  • ADA Watch
    Includes action alerts, statistics, photo gallery, legal assistance, media center, disability links, social justice links, civil rights links, contact info, organizational info.
  • Disabled information for the disabled from the disabled
    Includes articles, stories, links, chatrooms, and boards.
  • Disability Rights Advocates
    Legal Rights organization for US and International cases. Includes representative cases, publications, jobs, and fellowships.
  • Disability Statistics Center
    Produces and disseminates policy-relevant statistical information on the demographics and status of people with disabilities in American society.
  • Disability World
    A bimonthly web-zine of international disability news and views.
  • AbilityHub Assistive Technology Solutions
    Assistive Technology for people with a disability who find operating a computer difficult, maybe even impossible; direct you to adaptive equipment and alternative methods available for accessing computers
  • Learning Disabilities Association
    Largest non-profit volunteer organization advocating for individuals with learning disabilities. Includes news, resources, conferences, bookstore, legislative info, and areas for parents, teachers, and adults,
  • Independent Living Research Utilization
    Provides research, education and consultation in the areas of independent living, the Americans with Disabilities Act, home and community based services and health issues for people with disabilities. Includes mailing lists, trainings, and publications.

  • National Association of the Deaf
    "To promote, protect, and preserve the rights and quality of life of deaf and hard of hearing individuals in the US." Includes legal, advocacy, and resource info.
  • National Council for Support for Disability Issues/National Coalition for Students with Disabilities
    Provide a means for sharing information, resources, ideas and support between people with all types of disabilities. Info on current legislative issues and voting info. Includes info on self-esteem, sports and recreation, blogs, parent handbook, statistics, newsletters.
  • American Sign Language dictionary
    HandSpeak is the largest, fastest-growing popular visual language dictionary online.
  • World Institute on Disability (WID)
    Non-profit research, public policy and advocacy center. Focuses on: employment and economic development; accessible health care and Personal Assistance Services; inclusive technology design; and international disability and development. Includes training, educational opportunities, publications and reports
  • CeDIR
    Glossary created to provide the general user with basic definitions of different types of disabilities and other related terms.
