Confidentiality and Access to RecordsConfidentialityAll records and information related to students are confidential and maintained in Disability Resources. With the student’s permission, pertinent information can be discussed with Lane staff and faculty who are involved in the student’s educational program or others specifically identified by the student on the Disability Resources “Consent to Share” form. Records can be released to another institution with permission from the student. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) is the legal guideline for confidentiality at any educational institution. Here is a helpful resource for all staff and faculty to use in order to ensure appropriate confidentiality practices at Lane: Access to RecordsStudents may review their own records within 45 days after their request is received in Disability Resources, according to the procedure described in To accomplish this, students wishing to review their D.R. records can contact Disability Resources by voice: (541) 463-5150, TTY: 711, or disabilityresources@lanecc.edu and arrange an appointment with the Disability Resources Associate Dean or her designee. |
