Career Exploration
One way to discover career interests is by enrolling in an introduction course to a subject of interest or conducting informational interviews.
For example, if you are thinking about a career in social services, you might consider taking Introduction to Human Services (HS201).
In some cases you might even consider a cooperation education course. However, we suggest you check with an advisor or counselor to make certain this would be appropriate. For more information on Cooperative Education you can visit the following website 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/cooped/.
Several Lane students have benefited from taking a course titled Career and Life Planning (CG140). This is a 3-credit course focusing on career exploration. Career and Life Planning is a great investment for undecided, returning or re-careering students.
