Jewelry classes are designed to give students comprehensive information
of the jewelry industry and will include a sequence of classes that include
jewelry making, casting, design and production, marketing, pricing,
catalogues and wholesale/retail aspects of the business. This program
consists of 150 hours of core classes and 50 hours of elective classes
spread over at least four terms. Upon completion of the program,
students will receive an award of completion. Special project classes are
designed for students to complete their projects and are also available
for those that want to use the lab for their own projects with instructor
assistance.

Jewelry and Metal Working: Lost Wax Centrifugal Casting
We will be focused on refining wax and casting skills, hard wax carving, finishing cast pieces, making rubber molds, and a limited production run of your piece.

Jewelry and Metalsmithing, Beginning
Learn the basics of jewelry fabrication from wire and sheet with sawing, soldering, surface embellishment, basic forming, ring construction, stone setting and chain making. Covers design and technical decisions. Required Text.

Jewelry and Metalsmithing, Special Projects (Open Lab)
Designed for students in the Jewelry program that needs extra time to complete their projects with instructor led sessions. In addition, these classes may be used by those that want to use the studio to work on their own jewelry or small sculpture with guidance from the instructor when needed. Prerequisite: Beginning Jewelry or equivalent class or instructor permission.

Jewelry and Metalsmithing: Silver Smithing Continuing
Add more skills to your jewelry tool kit. Stone setting, fabrication techniques, etching and roller painting will be covered. Projects to include stone set ring, and a (students choice) buckle/brooch/pendant.

Jewelry: Open Lab
This class is designed for individuals that want to use the Jewelry lab for a limited time. Students in this class may use the nine hours during any of the Special Project class times. Instructor will maintain a sign-in log to track usage.
