Bond investments boost online learning
The benefits of the $83 million capital construction bond approved by voters in 2008 can be seen all around Lane Community College— smart classrooms, new roofs, ADA improvements and much more.
There are even benefits in what you
can’t see—a renewed infrastructure.
These upgrades have been especially
important for online learning, where
enrollment is up 43 percent.
The biggest bang for the bond buck
in support of online learning could
be the new data center on main
campus. If you were here last summer
you saw the blur of construction
activity as staff and contractors raced
to complete installations in time for
fall classes.
There are new labs and smart classrooms on campus too, further expanding online learning opportunities.
Online learning is a big part of the
future, and that’s where you’ll find
our students. Lane’s renewed campus
will help students achieve their
dreams, thanks to the bond.
The Board of Education is grateful to the voters who made this possible.
