Business Solutions: Web Entrepreneurs Share Their Expertise
Are you dreaming about creating your own website to promote your unique business? Are you wondering about the best way to market your business online? Having an effective website for your business is as important these days as being listed in the yellow pages.
Local web entrepreneurs, Michael Stearns and Staci Schipporeit, have teamed up to present a workshop on Making Your Mark Online: Building a Plan for Web Success, hosted by the Business Development Center (BDC). The four-part workshop will include a strong dose of web development strategies as well as a primer on Internet marketing techniques and will take you through the options for web development and hosting platforms.
This is an exciting venture for the husband and wife team, owners of Hero Web Marketing and Design, a web-based marketing company since 1996. Their business started as a home business, quickly outgrew that space, and was relocated to their current location as they added staff to keep up with the growing demand for their services. During this time, Michael and Staci came to the realization that while they had tremendous expertise in their field, they needed to hone in on the business essentials more as the business grew. They were referred to the Small Business Management (SBM) program and signed upright away.
Asked to describe the benefits of the SBM program, Michael states: “The Small Business Management program has helped us take our business to a whole new level. In a very concentrated amount of time, we have been given volumes of information targeted toward our specific needs. Our adviser has helped us develop a strong financial plan and evaluate our progress every step of the way. The program has provided us the added benefit of learning about the challenges and solutions of a range of other businesses. We recommend this program for any small business serious about implementing a strategic plan for growth.
”Michael and Staci have been with the SBM program for the past two years and a recontinuing their relationship with the BDC, both as students and facilitators of the web design class. Gary Smith, instructor for the SBM program, says, “It is awesome when we have such expertise within the program and can share that expertise with other business owners and entrepreneurs interested in web design.
”So come, have some fun and learn from these technology wizards who will focus on giving you the knowledge and resources you need to make smart and financially sound choices as you build your website success."
