Three Board Positions Up For Election

Three seats for the Lane Community College Board of Education are up for election on May 19.
The board establishes policies that govern the college. The board also makes budget decisions and oversees the development of educational and training programs.
The board has seven members elected from five specific zones and two at-large positions. Coming open are—
- Zone 1, western part of the district including Florence
- Zone 3, northeastern part of the district including Springfield and Marcola
- Zone 4, south and eastern part of the district including Cottage Grove, Oakridge, and McKenzie Bridge
Candidates must file with Lane County Elections from February 9 to March 19.
