Introducing your Board of Education
The seven officials serving on the Lane Community College Board of Education don’t make a cent for ensuring that you can earn a good living with an education and training from Lane Community College.
They’re volunteers and they’re elected by the citizens of the college district to govern Lane and see that the college provides the programs and services that you need.
Elections are held every other year and terms are staggered. This year, Susie Johnston of Pleasant Hill won re-election to a second term. Newly elected was Dr. Gary LeClair of Springfield, and Sharon Stiles of Florence.
Continuing service on the board are Tony McCown, Pat Albright, Roger Hall, and Robert Ackerman, all of Eugene.
At its July meeting, Pat Albright was named 2009/10 chair, and Tony McCown was named vice chair.
Board meetings are open to the public and usually held the second Wednesday of the month. Agendas are posted at 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/presoffc/board
