New programs: Retail management prepares students for career advancement

Lane has responded to the demand for retail managers and supervisors in Lane County with a new two-year associate of applied science degree in Retail Management. In addition to thousands of existing jobs with an average annual wage of $40,000 plus benefits, there are an estimated 560 new positions in retail management annually in Oregon. More than 40 of those jobs are projected to be in Lane County. Advanced retail training prepares students for these opportunities.

The program serves both new students and workers already employed in the industry who want to advance their careers. Program courses focus on the retail environment and include general business courses in accounting, marketing, communications, and human resources management.
