Lane Community College is committed to providing respectful working and learning environments that are free from discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Lane is committed to equal opportunity, affirmative action, diversity, and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The Affirmative Action/Diversity/Equal Opportunity Area of Human Resources may receive complaints and participates in investigating discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, and disability access and accommodations complaints.

Students, employees, applicants, members of the college community, and persons attending college sponsored events who have complaints are encouraged to contact one of the persons listed in the following sections for assistance, support, help with problem resolution, or information about complaint procedures.

Efforts will be made to resolve all problems and complaints promptly and fairly. Confidentiality for all parties will be respected to the greatest extent possible.

Statement on Retaliation [top]

Lane does not tolerate retaliation against any person(s) who files a complaint. The College prohibits retaliation against individuals in response to filing grievances or participation in any manner in an investigation under College policy.

  • Deny leave to donate bone marrow (ORS 659.358)
  • Regulate Tobacco use during non-working hours (ORS 659.380)
  • Discriminate against persons reporting patient abuse
  • Discriminate against persons reporting or opposing safety or health violations/hazards
  • Discriminate against persons giving Employment division testimony
