2001-02 FUNCTION INFORMATION SHEET

1. Description of Function
2. How does this discipline/program contribute to the Collegeís mission?
3. Criteria rating:  (Rate the function either as an FTE-Producing area or as a Service and Support Areaónot both.  DELETE the criteria not used.)  Rate this functionís performance on each criterion using a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the strongest.  

CRITERIA FOR FTE-PRODUCING AREAS:
_____1. has high enrollment/high demand
 _____2. leads to living wage jobs
 _____3. teaches basic work and life skills
 _____4. teaches technical skills which are desired by employers and lead to or enhance employment
_____5. is clearly articulated with similar and related programs  
_____6. actively seeks and maintains partnerships with business, industry, agencies, organizations, other educational institutions, and other departments within the college
 _____7. contributes to increasing the diversity of the student population
 _____8. cost/FTE appropriate for program and/or classes offered
 _____9. provides general education and preparation for further education
 ____10. enhances learning opportunities for students beyond traditional place and time boundaries
____11. improves the number of contracted faculty positions in areas where the full-time/ part-time ratio has been identified as out of balance
____12. meets federal, state, regional, or legal requirements
___ 13. has ability to generate revenue above the direct and indirect costs of the offering/service

CRITERIA FOR SERVICE AND SUPPORT AREAS:
_____1. Improves student success and retention
 _____2. directly supports instructional activities
 _____3. provides necessary support to other college departments and/or staff
_____4. has high demand/serves a large number of district residents
 _____5. maintains the public investment in the collegeís physical infrastructure (i.e., plant and equipment
_____6. meets federal, state, regional, or legal requirements
 _____7. actively seeks and maintains partnerships with business, industry, agencies, organizations, other educational institutions, and other college departments
 _____8. contributes to increasing the diversity of the student population
 _____9. one-time investment results in projected recurring savings to the college
 ____10. supports learning opportunities for students beyond traditional place and time boundaries
 ____11. has ability to generate revenue above the direct and indirect costs of the offering/service
